Dental Phobia

For patients who present with a dental phobia, rest assured all of our team are highly trained in managing patients with dental anxiety and we will do our very best to make your experience with us as relaxing and calming as possible.

Consultation
Your dentist will carry out a full comprehensive dental assessment split into four key areas and check the: teeth, gum condition, jaw joints/the way your teeth bite down together and meet called “occlusion” and any concerns you have about the appearance of your teeth. Clinical photographs are taken and x-rays if they be required are part of this assessment.

Your treatment plan
Our surgeries are equipped with screens showing your photographs and xrays of the findings in your examination. This gives you the opportunity to view your own teeth. Your dentist will give you options and advise a recommended treatment.

You will have the opportunity to ask questions about any part of your treatment plan advised by your dentist. A full costing of your treatment, number and length of appointments required will be shown on your treatment plan.

You have the option of booking your treatment with our reception team straight away or take the plan away with you and book at a later date should you prefer.

Patient Co-ordinator
Should you have any questions about your treatment at any stage either before, during and after we have a dedicated patient liaison co-ordinator who is available to discuss these with you.

Treatment
All dental treatments are carried are safe, predictable and minimally invasive using an evidence based approach. Our team of dentists and care nurses are highly trained and we are confident in delivering quality dental care for all our patients. Your dentist will advise you on what to do before your appointment depending on what treatment you are having at the practice.

Follow Up
If your dental treatment involves root canal, removal of teeth or dental implants we routinely carry out a follow up appointment just to see how you are. This could be a telephone call or an appointment at the practice.
